This show was hilarious and each of the five characters was terrific. This was soooo much better than something like Winter Wonderettes. I also love that it is in the basement of the Casita Del Campo restaurant, a wonderful Mexican restaurant with plenty of atmosphere, allowing for a nice dinner & drinks before the show.

This is one of the best performances I've seen this year! The theater space is small but the performance is amazing! This is a must-see.

My cheeks hurt after the show. What a treat!

The most laughter filled fun event during this holiday season!

This was a creative & wild evening. I laughed so hard my face hurt. The writing was original, with fast-paced humor delivered by a charming cast.

A holiday variety show with campy comedy, skits, and songs. A wonderful cast, I can see why this has been such a long running annual event!

This is just pure fun! I've seen the show for several years and the zaniness continues. My face still hurts from laughing and smiling.

BEST CHRISTMAS SHOW EVER! Don't want to ruin LA's best kept Christmas secret, but this is THE holiday show to see. Intimate, personal, campy and hilarious,(you can even take the little ones- the double-entendres will go right over their wee heads) - a must see!

Hilarious, not to be missed!

Great performance..although it was a preview night and tickets were only 15.00 so I would have been better off purchasing directly rather than through Goldstar since I ended up paying more.

Really a fun Holiday show with skewered holiday songs. Great energy and a ton of Fabulous costumes and a very cute set for this show. Especially loved Momma and Dina

Funny, campy, silly, musical production in a small, cozy, basement theatre. Talented cast, will probably be a yearly event for my friend and I!

An absolute riot. You will laugh so hard that you'll want to pee - seriously. Went with a group of six people and each one of us loved it. Great talent, great comedy, great time.

Festive, fun and funny by some great talents!
Despite what you’ve heard, this season’s “must see” holiday performance is not at The Kodak Theater, or even playing at The Pantages – but on a small stage, under a Mexican restaurant, in Silver Lake, CA.
The Fruit Cake Follies will have an extended schedule due to previously sold out shows and public outcries from the past 8 years. Executive produced, directed, created, and written each year by James Gray (though material is a collaborative effort), this year’s show will be chock-full of Christmas music – but of course, have The Follies' own spin on all areas holiday!
“The most rewarding thing about the show, is that everyone leaves with a smile and the holiday spirit.”, says Gray, “It’s good to have an alternative Christmas show to see other than “The Nutcracker”, “Handle’s Messiah” or the classic Dickens “A Christmas Carol.”
Often compared to the old television specials long gone, and a cross between Perry Como, Pee Wee’s Playhouse and The Carol Burnett Show, The Fruit Cake Follies is, at its heart, a musical revue. With a talented cast who work seamlessly together (acting, singing and ad-libbing), the performance is a mix of Christmas classics as well as some lesser known holiday fare. Lyrics are often re-written to match storylines based on everything from the musical “Wicked” to “Gilligan’s Island” plot lines, and keep the audience in hysterics along the way. This is not your mother’s, father’s, or even gay cousin’s Christmas special.
This year’s cast includes James Gray, Dena Drotar, Micah McCain, Sandy Fox and Momma, who has been with the show since it’s inception in 1999 at the Cinegrill in Hollywood. Guest stars are incorporated in every show and have included past regulars and show favorites Leslie Carrara, Rudolph & Lolly, Irene Soderberg, Donna Miller, Miss Coco Puru, and Evie Harris and Dennis Hensley, as well as celebrity visits from folks like Jm J. Bullock and Mary Haskell. Musical Director Michael Orland (American Idol) returns to hold down piano duties again this year, hot off his return from the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular in New York City – and its new touring company.
